A Few Days in Texas’ Capital
Yet again, work took me to the United States, and this time, I got to visit Austin, the capital of Texas. As always on these work trips, time was short, but I tried to make the most of it and get out with my camera as much as possible.
American cities always seem larger to me than their population size suggests, compared to European equivalents. However, the lake and many green spaces make Downtown Austin feel a bit more like a small city with separate towns nearby, at least in my perception. There also seemed to be a pleasant cowboy-meets-hippy vibe.
Some 28mm Street Photography
Austin’s downtown area was quite lively during my visit. Temperatures were high but not too high for people to spend time outside, so I got a few opportunities to photograph people close up at my favorite 28mm focal length.
Live Music Capital of the World
I had read about Austin’s live music scene, but the number of bars with a band on at any time of the day surprised me. Most of the performances I came across were of exceptionally high quality as well
